This policy explains what information Hearth & Fern ("we", "us") collects when you visit our site or place an order, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect only what we need to fulfill your order and stay in touch if you ask us to, and we never sell your information.
Information we collect
- Order information. When you check out, our payment processor collects your name, email address, shipping address, and payment details so we can process your payment and deliver your order.
- Email address. If you join our email list, we store the address you give us so we can send you the emails you signed up for.
- Device information. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical data such as your browser type and IP address to keep the site running and secure.
- Cart contents. Your cart is saved in your own browser's local storage so it's still there when you come back. It never leaves your device until you check out.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's secure checkout pages. We never see or store your card number. You can read how Stripe handles your data in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
How we use your information
- To process and ship your orders, and to send you order confirmations and tracking updates.
- To respond when you contact us about an order or a return.
- To send marketing emails, but only if you signed up for them. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
Sharing your information
We share your information only with the services required to run the store: our payment processor (Stripe), our shipping and fulfillment partners (who receive your name and shipping address to deliver your order), and our website host. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Data retention
We keep order records as long as we're required to for tax and accounting purposes. If you unsubscribe from our emails, we stop emailing you right away.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it (except records we're legally required to keep). Email us at support@hearthandfern.com and we'll take care of it within 30 days.
Children
Our store is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
